Find lesson plan templates and work on my speech for next week.
My Mentor:
My mentor got back to me on the bill. She's been busy, but she will be able to get to the bill this weekend. So I should be able to send it out next week.
My Research:
Research wise, I spent Monday through Wednesday on my templates and then Thursday and Friday on my speech (which is next Wednesday). I spent Monday and Tuesday reading about lesson plans- why they're important, their purpose, what they need to include, etc. I found this to be a really helpful website for that: http://writing.colostate.edu/guides/teaching/lesson_plans/index.cfm because it goes over what you should be thinking about when writing it (the goals you have), taking time into account, and creating activities. I found this site as well: http://writing2.richmond.edu/writing/wweb/education/lessonplan.html which I thought had a good layout with explanation.
This site: http://www.crlt.umich.edu/gsis/p2_5 goes into way more detail when explaining what to include in each component of a lesson plan, and includes additional sources at the bottom.
On Thursday I worked on the outline of my speech, and on Friday started working on the powerpoint. I found that I had all of the information that I needed, and so no additional research was necessary.
My Goals For Next Week:
Find examples of lesson plans for sex ed. classes, and advice on writing a lesson plan.
