MY GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:
This week I was to contact my mentor and continue my notes on STDs
MY MENTOR:
I emailed my mentor and I am waiting for a response.
MY RESEARCH:
This week I worked on my STD notes. Last week I recognized all STDs and picked out the ones that were most common in the United States. My plan was to only take notes on the more common STDs. However, as I was reading about the more common STDs, the more I began leaning toward learning all of them so that I could truly become an "expert" on the subject.
So I got my notes done for chlamydia, genital warts, HPV, gonorrhea and chancroid.
I also combed through some of the statistics on STD rates in the United States for my essay. When I wrote the rough draft of my essay, I found that I did not have as many STD statistics as I did for pregnancy, so I am working on fleshing out more of the STD side of my essay.
I used planned parenthood for my notes (and I plan on going through other sources to confirm what I have), and I used the CDC site that is in my bibliography to look at more of the statistics.
MY GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK:
Finish my notes for STDs (try to find a way to post them on this site), and plan a meeting with my mentor.
